When is the salsa Halloween party on Monday?
Monday, October 26, 2026. Doors open at 6:30 PM at Neck of the Woods, 406 Clement St, San Francisco. The beginner salsa class starts at 7:00 PM, an intermediate class follows at 7:55 PM, and salsa and bachata social dancing runs until 11:30 PM. It's our regular Monday night in costume, and over 250 dancers come every week.
Can I take a Halloween salsa class in San Francisco if I've never danced?
Yes. The 7:00 PM class is made for first-timers: it starts from the basic step, partners rotate so everyone practices, and plenty of people come alone. SalsaCrazy teaches the Monday class personally, the only weekly class he teaches. By the time the dancing starts, you'll have a few moves ready for the floor.
Do I need to wear a costume?
No, but costumes are encouraged for both the classes and the party. Choose one you can dance in: skip long capes, wide wings and masks that block your view, and wear shoes with smooth soles so turns are easy. Regular clothes are completely fine if you'd rather not dress up.
What should I know before I go?
Neck of the Woods is a 21+ venue, so bring a valid ID. There's a full bar, and Clement Street is lined with restaurants if you want dinner first. Monday classes are popular and the door line can get long, so arriving at 6:30 PM when doors open is the easiest way to start the class on time.
How do I get tickets for Halloween Monday?
Tickets are on Eventbrite under the October 26 Halloween listing. A class ticket includes the beginner or intermediate salsa class and the dancing afterward. Tickets are for that night only and sales are final. If Halloween hooks you, the November Salsa Series runs five Mondays from November 2 and builds each class on the last.
Is there a bigger Halloween party later that week?
Yes. Dance Fridays Halloween is Friday, October 30, at Space 550, 550 Barneveld Ave, with Julio Bravo playing live, three rooms of salsa, bachata and cumbia, and beginner lessons before the party. Dance Fridays is San Francisco's biggest weekly salsa and bachata party, with over 500 dancers every Friday. Same crew as Mondays.
